Lawton Connect Adds a Print Champion, Kelly Romano
Lawton Connect is proud to announce the addition of Kelly Romano as Print Champion to our growing team. A 19-year veteran of the creative industry, Kelly Romano is a designer, leader, advisor and all-around mover and shaker in the Orlando creative community.
The Print Champion role at Lawton Connect is a new position for the printing industry. “After years of strategic planning, we realized what our company, and the industry as whole, was lacking was a resident Print Champion; someone to celebrate print in the community, who understands the experience it creates, and wants to educate the next generations of designers,” said President, Kimberly Lawton Koon.
“I want to create a connection between people and paper,” said Romano who launched her design career after graduating from the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. Her experience ranges from branding, marketing and advertising, editorial design and new business development – always with a love of print design. “I’m a true champion of print and I have a fierce love of paper.”
Before joining Lawton Connect, Romano spent five years as the Creative Director of the NBA’s Orlando Magic where she led her team to win a National Sports Forum ADchievement Award. She proudly supports AIGA Orlando, is a panel leader for Athena Powerlink and speaks with design students regularly at the University of Central Florida. “I want design students to think about paper and finishing first. It shouldn’t be an afterthought. It is an integral part of the design itself,” said Romano.
The Print Champion will be a liaison for Lawton Connect and our clients to create exceptional printed pieces that not only look great but feel great as well. “We are thrilled to add Kelly to our team as our Print Champion- she will bring a new energy and excitement to Lawton Connect and to our industry”, said Lawton Koon.
